Pasing before the fence that seperated him from the rest of the world, the young brave stopped. He did not like that barrior between him and the white men. He didn't like being upon a Reservation either. It was a White man's idea, not his. Just as it was a white man's idea that he wore white men's clothing and spoke their language. None of it was his idea, and he hated them for it.
He did not show it out loud though. He showed it in small ways. he was one of the few young men left. One of the few that had not been taken away to work in the white man's feilds. Yet, he did not stay towards the middle of the reservation as his elders did. He stood right there, at the very edge, not caring much about the white men and their guns. If they shot him dead, then he would proudly stand before the Great Spirit as a defiant Brave.
Climbing up the fence was an easy thing. he had always been a very good climber. Sitting up there, above the world was his favorite place. As a child, he had climbed trees to get away from the missionaries that tried to steel away his culture. He liked it up there, becuase up there, he could see for miles. Still, Chogan wondered how long he would be able to stay yup there this time.

The guard noticed one of the natives sitting on the fence rather than in the encampment with the other. He looked over at his fellow postman seeing that the other was asleep with his rifle leaning on his shoulder and resting down between his legs. Cap over his face with brown hair sticking out at some parts. He sighed and stood up figuring he had to handle this himself. His partner likely would have just shot the guy anyway while he thought shooting anyone down the line would bring back karma around you. He didn't think karma liked him much as it was. He fixed his cap on his head of messy silver blonde hair as he approached Chogan.
"Hey!" He called up to the other to try and get his attention, his green eyes regarding him with annoyance. He tried to poke the other's foot with the gun but the fence was too high and he was too short. He frowned, "Get down from there right now!"

Chogan's powerful leds swung a little as he perched up on the fence. He liked it up there. Sometimes, he imagined jumping down to the other side. Sometimes he imagined himself turning into a crow and flying far away from this place. Perhaps to a place where the natives still lived free of fenses. He know though that his was not a welcome face. Tribes fought eachother as much as they fought the white men. In fact, only the white men here were keeping the mixture of tribes from outright warring upon eachother.
He looked down at the white man who had come to get him off his perch. Chogan did not liek the white men. he did not like the white men telling him what to do. But at least the other hadn't even bothered to try to call him by his White name. In fact, heshould have been glad he had not been shot on the spot.
He frowned. He hated useing the white man's tongue, but times liek this fiorced him to. "Why. It is a good veiw up here. I can see many things."

"You're not supposed to be up there." He didn't understand why the other was bothering to argue with him. He had been nice enough not to just shoot him so why wouldn't he just listen? Hannon sighed and adjusted the gun on his arm, the thing was a bit too heavy for him. He was only part of this small military group because his father had no use for a third son especially one that did not come from marriage. Hannon looked back up at Chogan. "Just come down and I won't have to shoot you or wake up my friend over there that has good enough aim to get you between the eyes without even having his own open." It was true, the other guard was only there because he was a great sniper. He could catch someone running miles away if he would stay awake long enough to care to do so.

Chogan would argue wioth white men becuase he refused to be a native that rolled over the did what they wanted of him. He woudl not fight, but he did rebell on other ways. He would question and refuse to answer to hsi white name. He prayed to the Great spirit and did the old dances. He spoke in his language every chance he got. he did not even wear the clothing the white men might want to make him wear. He was still a "savage" with loincloth and nothing else.
Sliding his legs oveer the edge, he looked down at the young white man. "You should come up here. It's an amazing veiw." Even if this white man talked kindly to him, Chogan thought that all white men had snake tongues. He trusted none of them.

Hannon heaved a sigh and took off his cap to rub his temples. Soft blonde hair spilled out from under it falling a bit past his shoulders. The reason he wasn't put on actual battle fields was because of his looks. The general he had first been assigned to said he was too much of a distraction for the soldiers. There was also the matter of who his father was. He looked back up at Chogan after fixing his cap back into place. "Come now why are you making this so hard? We treat you good here don't we? We keep your tribes from fighting each other, give you a nice deal of rations each day and all we ask is that you stay within the borders. So come down from that fence."
He was trying to keep from having to go up to get him. Hannon was notoriously weak. He was scrawny and had most of his strength in his legs from being a good runner but he was a terrible climber. He knew he would not be able to get up there as easily as the other had. He might make it after some time but then there was getting down, he hated heights and was like a cat scared to come down from a tree whenever he was forced to be somewhere high up.

Chogan knew he was being a little difficult with the White Man. Really, the small figure did seem rather different from others. Others would not have argued, They would have just shot him. Still, he had to laugh hasshly at the others words. "Treated good. You think this is good treatment. Trapped behind a fence getting your leftovers. Our maidens stolen by white men for their lusts. Our strong braves taken to work your feilds in what used to be our land."
He looked down upon the boy from his high spot. He had been lucky so far. No white man had taken him for the feilds yet. He supposed it was becuase he stayed from the living areas as much as he could. Sighing, he supposed that being yup there would just alwert other white men that thewre was still a strong a verile brave to own. SO it was with great reluctancer that he jumped off his merch and landed. mere inches away from the white man. His crouch ended his face almost in the other's cortch. But he quicjkly stood tohsi full height, dark hair falling before his face.
"Are you happy now, White Devil."

Hannon flinched as if the words struck him. He knew what the white people did to the other races. He wasn't for or against it. To be honest it really didn't concern him much as he had no land that needed to be tended to and he didn't have any maids to tend to him. He also had no lusts that needed satisfying at this point. He was just there. He had not seen any of the things happen first hand to the Natives though he had seen what was done to the darker slaves.
"Thank you," he answered quietly not even rising to the insult. He thought the other had a right to say it. His people were called savages so they could call him a white devil. He turned to head back to his post. All he had wanted was for the other to get off the fence and that was done now. He saw his partner sitting with his shotgun ready and looked at Chogan. He put his arms up as he stood in front of the other. "You can be at ease there's no situation. He's staying in the limits and remember the general said if you kill another he'll dock our already meager pay."

Chogan was about to insult the other more, but did not get that far when he heard a sound behind him. It was the other white man. He hid a scowl and passively looked at the man and at the gun leveled at him. With little effort, he put his own arms up, his stong armd raising in the sunlight. His eyes slid over to Hannon and he waitesd. Perhaps if he was quick enough, he could grab and take this boy hostage before the other got a shot off. He doubted it.
So instead, he stayed silent and motionless. he was going to have to trust this pale haired snake tongued man.

Hannon looked at the other man who slowly lowered his gun. The man sat back down going back to his lazy posture. Hannon sighed in relief and put his arms down. He had never seen anyone die before and he didn't want to see it now. He turned and looked at Chogan, "See that's why you have to stay behind the fence." He removed his cap and wiped a bit of sweat from his brow. His golden hair caught the sunlight but it didn't stay off long enough for the other soldier to see. He looked at Chogan once more, "Now please stop causing yourself and me trouble."

The native thoguht that hannon had soem very bright hair. he had seen blonds before, but never at such a level at with such closeness. Sometimes, late at night, he would dream of showing those blond white devils what they put his people's women through. But he wasnt' about to grow violent in such a fashion.
He corssed his arms and it made his considerable muscles bulge. "That shows me nothing. It just shows that you white men kill for no reason at all." He reached out and patted the other male's cheek. "But I will make sure to keep you out of trouble from now on. I will only cause trouble when you aren't around." Kind white men were no fun to rebell against anyway. When they were kind like Hannon was, Chogan could not hate them as much.

Hannon moved his head away when the other touched his cheek. He looked at him from the corner of his eye. He had thought Chogan was going to hit him. He had been slapped before by a Native girl when he had merely been trying to help her with an injury caused by another white man. He was confused by the other's words but nodded his head anyway. "Its best you don't cause trouble at all. You might end up hauled to the fields that way and I'm sure you don't want that."

The native laughed softly. "If I was dragged out there, they'd lose me in the first three hours. IThey all know that, so they keep be back here., They know I'll escape. Or I'll be killed. He smiled at the white man and then started to walk away. "Still, it is nice to see that not all white men are like the rest of them. I might just behave for you. Maybe."

Hannon had a feeling that it wasn't a good thing that Chogan behave. He frowned and moved back to his post taking a seat. He was going back into the encampment so there was nothing left for him to say to him. As long as the other stayed in there everything was well. Hannon looked at his partner seeing him asleep once more.

The native started his jaunty walk away from the blond. He looked over his shoulder just once. Tonight, he'd be back up that fence again. He really did liek to be up there, becuase up there, he coudl be closer to the stars. After all, unless he maanged to find somethginelse to keep him busy, Chogan didnt' have much else to do, caged in this place.
